Over the line

Sep 2023

After the first thoughts last year, an idea was refined and developed, followed by months of planning, deliberation, guidance and support from so many good friends.

The idea became a reality. Two older, unfit non-cyclists gradually became more determined to cycle, over 18 days, a big chunk of England and Wales to mark the passing of their son Harry in a positive way.

Well, we did it.

We wanted to help break the stigma of young suicide, an uncomfortable topic of conversation, and also raise funds for Papyrus who focus on and provide support for anyone who may be affected or vulnerable.

586 miles later we nursed our aching bodies back to Surrey having completed our Wonky Heart. Bittersweet moment, but the experience has surpassed our dreams and continues to do so.

This week we will be filming a piece with the BBC to go out just after World Suicide Prevention Day, and the fundraising still comes in, every pound helping a great charity.
